Bershka Playa del Carmen: Where Fashion Meets Affordability

Updated: Oct 13

The image shows the facade of the Bershka store in Playa del Carmen.
Bershka Playa del Carmen has been one of the favorite options for young people visiting Playa del Carmen worldwide.

Bershka Playa del Carmen: During my recent visit to town, I explored some of the most popular shops in Playa del Carmen, and one that caught my attention was Bershka at the Paseo del Carmen Shopping Mall.

In this review, I'll share my experience and practical tips to ensure that your visit to Bershka is as satisfying as your shopping in Playa del Carmen.

Youthful and Affordable Fashion

The image shows the interior of the Bershka clothing store with some mannequins and clothing of various styles for men and women.
Bershka is known for offering a fresh and youthful clothing style that is especially popular among teenagers and young people.

From the moment I walked into Bershka, I was drawn to the variety of modern and affordable clothing.

The store is spacious and well-organized, making it easy to find specific items. It's one of the standout stores in Playa del Carmen, perfect for young shoppers.

I found an incredible selection of clothes for men, women, and kids, ranging from casual and edgy styles to more classic options.

My purchase of a pair of jeans and some creatively designed T-shirts was a pleasant surprise. The quality of the clothing, especially considering the affordable prices, exceeded my expectations.

I also took advantage of some great deals during my visit, which made my shopping experience even better.

Prime Location at Paseo del Carmen Shopping Mall

This image shows an area with chairs, tables, a Starbucks, a bar, and a Häagen-Dazs at Paseo del Carmen Shopping Mall.
The store's privileged location in Paseo del Carmen makes it ideal for a day of strolling and shopping.

I love the strategic location of Bershka, situated at Paseo del Carmen Shopping Mall, next to Fifth Avenue in Playa del Carmen.

This mall is one of the city's entertainment and shopping hubs. After visiting the store, it was easy to find a nearby Starbucks for lunch and enjoy a Häagen-Dazs ice cream while strolling around the beautiful Paseo del Carmen Shopping Mall.

Bershka Playa del Carmen Customer Service

The image shows the checkout area with visible cashiers and some shoppers surrounded by clothing from the store.
The customer service in the store varies, depending on how busy the store is and the staff on duty. However, overall, the service is satisfactory.

My experience with customer service could have been better. While some employees were amiable and helpful, there were moments when I felt the staff could have been more attentive.

However, this didn't tarnish my overall experience, as most of the staff I interacted with were professional and polite.

Self-Checkout System

Imagine you're inside the Bershka store and in an area designed for self-checkout. This space is distinct from the rest of the store, marked by two stations or kiosks where customers can check out their items. Each station has a small counter, similar to a standard checkout counter. Still, instead of a cashier, there's a monitor or screen. These screens are positioned at eye level, making them easily accessible to customers. Next to the screens, there are card readers where you can insert or tap your card for payment, as these stations only accept card payments. In this scene, you can picture a woman and her daughter standing at one of these self-checkout stations. The woman is probably guiding her daughter through the process, teaching her how to scan items and use the monitor. You might hear the occasional beep as they scan items, followed by the soft tapping sound of the screen as they navigate the payment process. The atmosphere is relatively quiet, with the subtle background noise of other shoppers in the store.
The self-checkout option is convenient for those in a hurry. Please note that this option only accepts card payments.

One of the things I noticed was the implementation of self-checkout machines. Although I had no issues using them, I observed that some customers seemed confused by the process.

It's important to note that these machines only accept card payments, not cash, which can inconvenience some.

Consider taking the time to familiarize yourself with the system or seek assistance from an employee if needed. You can always opt for the traditional checkout for a more personalized experience.

Bathrooms at Bershka Playa del Carmen

The bathrooms are conveniently located between the Bershka store and Rip Curl.

The bathrooms are conveniently located right next to the clothing store. They are entirely free, clean, and in good condition.

Having bathrooms available is especially important after a hot day of exploring, where staying hydrated is constant.

Parking at Bershka Playa del Carmen

This image shows the location of the Playacar parking lot.
If you bring your vehicle to Playacar, a parking lot on 10th Avenue or paid parking meters are available.

Playa del Carmen is a small town that is ideal for walking or biking. We suggest leaving your car parked at your hotel or Airbnb.

However, if you decide to drive for any reason, you should know there is paid parking along 10th Avenue.

To access it, enter as if going to Playacar but continue towards Avenida Juarez. The cost is 20 pesos per hour, and the exact location is between Calle 3 Sur and 1a Sur on Avenida 10.

The parking lot is near the mini zoo where Paseo del Carmen begins. Here is the location link on the map: Estacionamiento Playacar.

If you decide to park on the street, remember that parking meters operate throughout the tourist zone from 10 am to 10 pm.

Do not park in areas marked with yellow or red lines, and display your ticket visibly on the front windshield of your vehicle.

Tips for a Better Experience

This image shows an empty store area with women's clothing and bras.
When visiting the store when it is not very busy, particularly in the evening, avoiding long lines and waiting at the checkout is advisable.

  1. Visit During Off-Peak Hours: I recommend visiting the store during less busy hours to avoid crowds and enjoy a more relaxed shopping experience.

  2. Take Advantage of Sales: Bershka often has attractive promotions and discounts. Keeping an eye out for these deals can help you snag fabulous clothes at reduced prices.

  3. Patience with Self-Checkout: If you decide to use the self-checkout machines, take your time and don't hesitate to ask for help if necessary. This can be an excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with new technology and make your purchase more quickly.

When Does the Bershka Store in Playa del Carmen Open?

This image shows the store's exterior, where Paseo del Carmen and the store entrance are visible.
The store opens from 9 am to 10 pm. However, it's not easy to find the hours on their business profile; you have to ask the staff to get the schedule, which I did.

This is a frequently asked question. If you visit their Google My Business profile, you'll find a phone number that nobody answers and no information about the business hours.

However, when I asked at the store registers, they confirmed that the hours are from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

It's surprising that, being a renowned international chain, they cannot quickly provide such basic information on their Google business profile.

They provide fitting rooms for both men and women, making it convenient to try on clothes before purchasing.

Although some areas could improve, such as customer service at certain times and the user-friendliness of the self-checkout system, my overall experience was satisfying.
