The exterior features a smooth and uniform texture. What stands out is the giant dog logo prominently displayed on the facade. This large, eye-catching logo serves as a major visual focal point, making the store easy to spot even from a distance. The store is situated between 10th Street and 12th Street, in a bustling area known for its high concentration of shops and restaurants, adding to the vibrant energy of the place. Although there's no traffic of vehicles or cyclists nearby, the steady flow of people and the lively atmosphere make it clear that this location is popular and well-frequented.
It's impossible to miss Cuidado con el Perro; it's massive and located between 10th and 12th Street on Fifth Avenue.

This store has become one of my go-to spots whenever I need to update my wardrobe without breaking the bank, making it a top choice for shopping in Playa del Carmen.


Affordable Fashion Without Compromising Quality

At the back of the store, you'll find a brightly lit area prominently featuring the name Mala Hierba in large, bold letters. This section is designed to stand out with its vibrant lighting that highlights the space, creating a visually striking contrast with the rest of the store. In this section, you’ll see stylish mannequins showcasing the latest fashion trends, including a wide variety of clothing items such as trendy tops, chic pants, and accessories. There are also displays of shoes and sneakers, carefully arranged to catch your eye. The overall ambiance is modern and inviting, making it easy to browse and explore the unique offerings of Mala Hierba within the store.

On the other hand, Sneakers are priced a bit higher but still reasonable, with their cost being comfortably within the middle range compared to higher-end items. This means you’re getting good value for the money you spend.
The prices are meager, with t-shirts not exceeding 150 pesos and sneakers ranging between 350 and 400 pesos.

One of the things I love most about this store is that, despite being incredibly affordable, you don't handle the quality.


The clothing matches well-known stores like H&M, Bershka, or Pull & Bear. However, the difference here is that the prices are much lower.


For example, a high-quality t-shirt can cost you around 100 to 150 Mexican pesos, a price that's hard to beat anywhere else when you are shopping at 5th Avenue.


A Treasure Trove for Graphic Tee Enthusiasts

Imagine the thrill of discovering t-shirts with bold, robust designs inspired by heavy metal rock from the 1980s. These shirts are offered at very affordable prices, making them a fantastic find. The feel of the fabric is likely sturdy and high-quality, reflecting the iconic style of that era. Additionally, there’s an entire section dedicated to t-shirts featuring South Park, a popular animated show. These shirts are also priced similarly, so you’re getting a great deal. The entire experience is designed to make shopping for unique and nostalgic shirts enjoyable and budget-friendly.
Check out those incredible heavy metal rock t-shirts from the '80s, priced between 100 and 150 pesos— it doesn't get any better! A whole section is dedicated to South Park t-shirts, available at the same great price.

The fitting room area has a spectacular design. As you approach, you will feel the unique texture of the entrance, which includes a mirror you can touch to check your reflection. The doors leading into the fitting rooms have several undulating layers, creating a distinctive, wavy texture. This design adds a dynamic and exciting element to the space, enhancing your shopping experience.

What surprised me the most the first time I walked in was how easy it was to get lost in the store—in the best way possible.


With an abundance of options and prices that won't empty your wallet, you might find yourself leaving with more than you planned.


I, for one, went in for a couple of T-shirts and left with eight, each one more stylish than the last. It's a paradise for those who love casual, modern fashion.


The music in the store is fantastic, featuring a mix of progressive techno and house beats that set the mood. While the modern ambiance of the store is impressive, the spotlights created too much illumination for my taste.


Additionally, there was no air conditioning on the day I visited, making the heat almost unbearable. I hope this is a temporary issue.

For instance, Óptima and Baby Óptima cater to eyewear and children's products, while Tops&Bottoms, Skinny, and Action Gear provide a variety of clothing and gear. However, as with any store, there are a few things to remember. While the service is generally good, some reviews mention that it can sometimes be numb.


Also, the selection might be limited if you're looking for larger sizes. But these aren't deal breakers for you. In that case, Cuidado con el Perro is the perfect place to find affordable, high-quality clothing in Playa del Carmen.

This store offers excellent prices and quality at more than affordable rates for the entire family. It’s a must-visit in Playa del Carmen.
