Old Navy Playa del Carmen: Fashion for the Whole Family

Updated: Nov 1, 2024

A two-story building stands out because of its large size and modern design, featuring the Old Navy store logo in large letters.
It’s impossible to ignore this store, which is right at the entrance of the famous shopping center and serves as the showcase for Paseo del Carmen.

Old Navy Playa del Carmen. Playa del Carmen is known for its vibrant culture, beautiful beaches, and many shops.

Among these, Old Navy is a popular spot for buying clothes for the whole family. I decided to visit this Paseo del Carmen Shopping Mall store to see what it offers and share my experience.

First Impressions

The image displays A pair of tiny sandals designed for a baby and a couple of yellow baby shirts.
There is a wide variety of clothing for the whole family, including some adorable sandals for a baby that looked so tiny they seemed like a keychain or a souvenir.

Upon arrival, the façade of the Old Navy store in Playa del Carmen was quite pleasant. Most of the staff were friendly and respectful, which was a good start.

The store offers various reasonably priced clothing, although not always in all sizes, which can be inconvenient for those looking for something specific.

Variety and Prices

The image shows a section of the store dedicated exclusively to jeans.
This store features a wide variety of jeans, which are, in fact, the most predominant item throughout the entire store.

One of the things that caught my attention was the large selection of jeans available. If you are a jeans lover, this store is for you.

However, the store had a limited offering of other types of clothing, which made me feel that the variety was lacking. Although discounts were frequent, the overall prices seemed higher than expected.

In-Store Experience

In this photo, various garments can be seen with signs offering significant discounts.
Although the store is filled with tags boasting significant discounts, the prices still felt high. I didn't see any offer that made me say, "Wow, I'm buying this." This wasn't very pleasant.

The store's orderliness was impeccable, everything was labeled correctly, and the promotions were attractive. During my visit, there were clothes with up to 70% off, which is excellent if you want to save a bit.

However, despite almost the entire store being labeled with significant discounts of 60% or 70%, the prices were still elevated, and it didn't seem like there were good deals compared to other stores.

For instance, I found sneakers initially priced at 900 pesos and reduced to 300 pesos at Pull&Bear Playa del Carmen. The fitting rooms were also dirty, and the person attending them could have been more friendly.

Customer Service

This image displays a space filled with various items, including socks, t-shirts, and children's clothing.
In general, the staff could be more friendly. They always seemed preoccupied with their tasks, and there was little to highlight regarding customer service. The overall impression is that the employees are focused on their work rather than engaging with or assisting customers.

While I had no issues at checkout, it's essential to acknowledge the concerns raised by others in the reviews regarding staff attentiveness.

This is a common issue in clothing stores in Playa del Carmen, where employees spend a lot of time organizing clothes that customers try on, only to have them unfolded.

It's a demanding job, and it's understandable how this could lead to the lack of attention often experienced in these stores.

Fortunately, the rest of the staff, including the security guards, were very kind and helpful, which balanced the overall experience somewhat. However, it's an area the store needs to focus on improving.

Old Navy Shop the Latest Fashion for the Whole Family

This photo shows the first floor with clothing for sale and signs for great deals.
The store felt empty and lacked charm, utterly devoid of the vibrant atmosphere in other places like Pull&Bear. It was a rather uninspiring experience, with a noticeable absence of ambiance or energy.

I've read various opinions about this store. While many people love it for its good deals and quality clothing, my experience was somewhat different.

The store felt lackluster, with unappealing clothing and a somewhat subdued atmosphere.

There were very few shoppers compared to other clothing stores, which added to the feeling of being a bit off. But this is my opinion, and many people enjoy shopping here.
